Fields of colour run throughout the collection, accented by roughly drawn lines. The coarse weave perfectly shows the quality of the wool and allows the variations in colour, achieved through a special dyeing process, maximum expression. Designed in Italy and handknotted in Lahore, Punjab, the collection is designed for use in less formal but modern interior settings and to reflect the warmth, texture, character and familiarity expected in areas of constant use. While colour and texture underpin all Battilossi carpet collections, in the case of the carpets in the Linea collection it was particularly important to deliver these in a form inspired by minimalism. The physical character of each rug suggests informality and individuality, while the design expresses a contemporary restrained aesthetic but with the personality of a handmade artefact.
